Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia - Enhance Visibility and Increase Awareness

Our strategy -- use creative visuals and themes to tie-into existing high profile events - ultimately creating news value while highlighting the hotel's offerings. Mission accomplished.

The 2002 Democratic Gubernatorial Primary was already a top item on the media's agenda. We capitalized on this attention by naming "candidate sandwiches," designed to match the personality characteristics of its respective namesake, Ed Rendell and Bob Casey. These sandwiches were added to the menu at Jack's Tavern, in the Hotel, resulting in a mock poll with the outcome measured in sandwiches consumed.

Philadelphia was the host city for the 2002 X-Games -- Doubletree was a participating hotel. Most hotels would have hung banners or hosted luncheons, but we created "X-Treme Bellhops." The Doubletree bellhops were outfitted with rollerblades to truly welcome the X-Games to the city of Philadelphia - feeding in to the sprit of the events.

The result of our initiatives - a tidal wave of publicity that flooded the airwaves with mentions of Doubletree Hotel, raised awareness to unprecedented heights, generated millions of media impressions throughout Philadelphia and across the state, and increased traffic through the doors of the Hotel.
